"tip of the iceberg".

Played racquetball yesterday at Kenyon. My pregame blood sugar was 110 and the postgame reading was 109. So my Friday test of 36 was faulty due to an insufficiently sized blood drop on the test strip. The four days that I spent wondering if I had hypoglycemia may have a profound effect on this diet. I need to consume good carbs and not exhaust my bodies long term ability to create insulin. (Eat as if I have "type 2".) The obiesity is just the "tip of the iceberg". Good metaphor for other possible long term symptoms that could be lying underneath the water; type 2 diabeties, high blood pressure, chloresterol & joint issues, etc.

@ Kenyon College, Gambier, OH.

Played 2 hrs of racquetball yesterday and it definitely paid off on the scales this morning. Great sport; fast, shuffling, start/stop, easy on the joints. LOVE IT! Down 8 lbs now, an all-time high from the start of this diet. One concern, (question for sis'ta; Deb) when finished, my blood sugar was 36??? I checked it because my good buddy (Tim Chesnut) was recently diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes, so I pricked myself and tested out at 36. Huhh?? We aim to play frequently and plan to do a pre' and post' game test soon. (hypoglycemia??, I have no other symptoms.)

Mission Impossible

This is much tougher than I thought it was going to be. Seems like what I would consider a small mistake, results in a big penalty. Not gaining weight, but not losing either. Needing to steer clear of all the "starchies", breads, pastas, rice, (mistake @ Chipotle) and increase water intake. Here's the plan for 2'morrow; breakfast: Chiropractic Blend (green drink) with 2oz of MonaVie pulse, and a 2 egg sandwich on an Arnold mulit-grain bun. Lunch: Kashi almond bar. Dinner: something to get me to 40 WW pts for the day, and that's it!
