The Esslestyns'

Caldwell Esselstyn co-stars with T. Colin Campbell in the movie, "Forks Over Knives".  It's the #1 documentary on Amazon, 2+ years running.  Among the many benefits, I'm most intrigued with the evidence that plaque builup on the arterial walls, is reversable.  Esselstyns' son Rip, of Engine 2 Diet, is also pioneering the "vegan / no oil" movement.  See the movie, or delve into the many YouTube videos.

Body Mass Index

Snapshot of today, woke up at 317.5 lbs, and a BMI of 41.3, which designates me as being Class 3 Obese.  One Word: Embarassing.

Ah-Ha moment #1.

Robert Lustig's YouTube video, "Sugar, The Bitter Truth", was my 1st Ah-Ha moment. This riveting video details the detriments of High Fructose Corn Syrup. It's cheap, engineered food, that's not natural to our bodies. This was a huge breakthrough but not enough to fully understand the cause of my obesity.

Woke up this morning @ 288.5, so that's a new low to celebrate. Spiked up to 296 at one point but am on my way down again. A variety of Cliff Bars have been a popular addition to the diet. Still sleeping well with the CPAP. And during this process, I've left many a pound, at the Kenyon Athletic Center. 311-288 is a total loss of 23 POUNDS.

New low! Haven't been 290 for over a year. Took a week off due to holidays and family, but I'm back on track now. 4 straight days of 1,500 calorie dieting has me down to 290.75

292.6 now. After all the gimmicky diets, it comes right down to caloric intake. Simply burn more than you consume; what a concept.
